{ Festival Highlights }

Humber Mouth 2002 brings a number of top speakers to the city, including Tariq Ali, Oliver James, Blake Morrison, Pete McCarthy, Toby Litt, and Jon Ronson. Erich Hoyt, world expert on marine life, conservation and killer whales, will be speaking at The Deep, a venue which we are proud to be able to include in this year�s festival. There is live debate at Hull Truck brought by the Institute of Ideas from London, who have previously worked with The Royal Shakespeare Company, Tate Modern and the British Library. The panel includes writers, journalists and producers, including award winning historian Felipe Fernandez Armesto, author of Millennium and Civilizations, both major TV programmes.

There is again a strong element of theatre and performance with comedy from Weird Sisters; Northern Theatre Co. present The Vagina Monologues at Hull Truck and The Gasman Cometh at Wyke College; and there is a new play by Diane Dubois.
